Um hello!! Why did you open this email before 3:17 am, when I clearly instructed you not to? Now you've gone and unleashed a curse. If you don't forward this message to 13 people named Charlie Stewart* within 9 hours, you will have to deal with minor (but irritating) inconveniences for the next 7 years...
Don't worry. There's no curse. I was just reminiscing about the old days when people used to do weird things for entertainment like send chain letters and go on dates and make prank phone calls. Seems like forever ago... Which is also how long it's been since I sat down to write an email. I don't have anything terribly riveting to share, but I wanted to check in and remind you that I'm still here. How've you've been? Anything exciting happening in your world? Did this email unlock any long lost memories? Hit reply and let me know! If this message doesn't have you running for the unsubscribe button, I'll check in again soon with something more substantial than a walk down memory lane. Till then, keep the shiny side up! xo JL P.S. If you're feeling stuck on a creative project, I offer a free 30-minute clarity call. You can find my calendar here. P.P.S. *Charlie Stewart was the name of one of my husband's cats and it's the first thing that came to mind here which says a lot about where my head is at the moment. 🫠 |

Seriously, though. You are a treasure. You're so rare that one day every single year, people literally gather with gifts to sing and eat cake in your honour. A whole 24-hour celebration just because you exist and the world is better for it. I don't know how you manage to stay so humble while you're out there changing people's lives by being you. Walking around all unassuming. Just stardust wrapped in a meat suit, making all kinds of impact just by breathing. Like it's no big deal. You're...
Well I've finally decided to take my own advice. For years I've been telling my clients anyone who will listen how important it is to focus on one audience and one idea. But that rule didn't apply to me, I guess. In classic do as I say but not as I do style, I've been plodding along, trying to connect with people wanting help writing books, businesses needing brand strategy or copywriting, and basically anyone looking for help promoting things. It finally hit me one day while I was zenned out...
A couple weeks ago I cried because my feet are too big and I couldn't figure out how to write my own website copy. I don't know if it's the astrology, the state of the world, or perimenopause, but I've been in a funk lately, and I know I'm not the only one. Many of my self-employed friends have been feeling the same way, so I thought I'd check in to see how you're doing... Are you feeling funky? Or blocked? Not happy with the results you've been getting? Sick of doing things the same way you...
